Quiz basics

A session is 10 rounds, or 15 for Country Profile. Each round gives you 15 seconds to answer. A correct answer scores more the faster you answer, and a streak adds a bonus of up to 50%. An incorrect answer or a timeout scores 0 and resets your streak.

Quiz modes

• Country name — A country is highlighted on the globe and you name it. There's no candidate button list, even at Easy or Intermediate difficulty — you answer by clicking the globe directly (or a keyboard-accessible list scoped to that round's highlighted countries), so you can't win by matching text instead of recognizing the country.
• Flag — A flag is shown large; pick the matching country name from the candidates. Flags never appear on the candidate buttons themselves, so you're matching flag to name, not flag to flag.
• Capital — A capital city is named; pick the matching country from flag-and-name candidates.
• Country Profile — Five countries in a row, three questions each (name, then capital, then flag), 15 rounds total. The globe travels to each country — zooming out, pausing, then zooming back in — so moving between countries feels like traveling. Only that country is highlighted, and every question is a 4-option multiple choice, no matter how many stops you've completed.

Difficulty

For Country name, Flag, and Capital mode, difficulty ramps within the session: rounds 1-3 highlight 4 candidate countries, rounds 4-7 highlight 8, and rounds 8-10 show no highlighting at all — you find the country directly on the globe or through a full keyboard-accessible list of all 193 countries. Country name mode always requires clicking the globe itself rather than a button list, at every difficulty, so you can't just match text.

Country Profile mode doesn't ramp this way — every question is 4-option multiple choice at every stop, since the country is already indicated on the globe. Its challenge comes from the camera moving to a new country every three questions, not from a shrinking candidate pool.

Profiles & achievements

Open the profile icon in the top-right corner to create a local profile and track your best score, completed expeditions, and accuracy over time. Every profile lives only on this device — switch between profiles, or add a new one, any time. As you play, you'll unlock achievements for milestones like your first expedition, ten completed expeditions, a perfect round, a five-answer streak, and reaching a high score.

Accessibility

Every round offers a keyboard-accessible list of candidates alongside the globe, and the app falls back to a full list-based country picker if WebGL isn't available.
